Valentines Nightmare - SATA Data Pins Broken by RJAce1014 Valentines Nightmare - SATA Data Pins Broken by RJAce1014
Pin 1, 5, 6, 7 is bent and removed by accident. I know the pins like 1 - 4 - 7 Is ground 2 - 3 Transmit, 5 - 6 Receive.
2,3,4 is what's left. That's my emachine HDD (I hate those SATA Plastics) Currently using my old Win XP just upload this.

In this hard drive, my entire artwork, animation projects, souvenirs, pictures, essays, powerpoints and other things important in my life like passwords are all gone or will be gone if I cannot salvage this drive. With this, I might quit deviantart for a while (Not permanently) since I have nothing now or can upload any artworks without main brain but to wait for the time I can afford the recovery that cost $1000 per 100GB and things inside is like 400GB so I'm screwed unless I learn how pro can solder or stuffs they do in computers. I wish some computer pros will help me but of course, nothing is free in this world. There's no such thing as free lunch. Anyways, my trip to Philippines today leave me depress + more depression. I have no idea nor sleep the night just thinking how the hell can I salvage the data for my own.

My Valentines animation is to be uploaded today before I fly home but it was ruined.

Everything I work for years in there is ruined. I did back-up some but the most recent and hardest like animations are just a dream. So I guess, I have to find a real solution into this as my homework in Philippines before I go crazier than I am now. Until, I'm screwed... FML for real...

I was just trying to remove the DVD tray but then HDD is attached into it making my life impossible. Super glue makes it worst and in the end, I'm stupid. I QUIT, I GIVE UP... for now. I will research how to fix it.

In case you ask my activity, I won't be active much until I get this back, in case you think I'm dead or so. I can't function things and start a new without any HDD or using someones PC. (Now Mac makes sense)

I guess attending funeral is much calm than loosing your work...

It makes me cry thinking of it. My classmates will kill me, we will get an F for real, I just lost the project. If you kill me, please make it painless.

As long as that metal platter disk inside is still intact, your data is not lost or gone. That's how those recovery service does their job. Your problem here in this picture is sata port. You can either solder metal or anything to enable to conduct connection to mobo or change the PCB with a new one matching your HDD. I'm not a geek station wiz but I hope this comfort you. Your data is not lost forever, seek professionals like your dad.

Contact the vendor of the HDD or look on eBay for the same model to replace the PCB (board). I don't know if you can solder. Otherwise get the HDD to a electronics repairman. I could solder you a new SATA port on the PCB but you life in the Philippines and I in Germany. ;)

So don't be frighten your data isn't lost forever. ;)

But it's a feat to break the SATA connector's. I never seen this in my entire life of PC services before.

I know how you feel about computer damage; it happened to me on multiple occasions (I had a computer with thousands of files, but at one point, it never turned on again. It was charged at that time too).

Why was the hard drive out of your computer anyways? xD

You may be able to fix it yourself with some patience. Good luck.

You could always buy a new HDD for the time being just to get your emachine working until you fix it's original HDD.
